Abstract

In today’s digital era, approaches to improve student engagement, academic support, and student enrollment are critical for higher education institutions. This paper introduces AcademiBot, a novel college dialog system designed to provide personalized assistance to students and serve as a strategic marketing tool for institutions. AcademiBot utilizes advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) and customized data to revolutionize colleges-students interactions by offering accurate, human-like responses to inquiries. The system employs two communication methods: a web GUI, AcademiBot-Web, and a VR game environment, AcademiBot-VR. Each platform offers unique user experiences and information access points. We evaluate AcademiBot using advanced LLMs to explore optimal performance in terms of speed, accuracy, and response length. AcademiBot stands as a testament to the potential of integrating AI and LLMs in higher education and opens avenues for further research and development in creating intelligent, interactive, and user-friendly chatbot systems in various domains.
