This NSF-funded study introduces an IoT-based curriculum for grades 9-12 Computer Science education, built on a 4-layer IoT model. Using single-board computing devices, the curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning with modern programming languages. Prior to designing the curriculum, focus groups were conducted using the ARCS model of motivation as a conceptual framework. Qualitative data analysis about student attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction revealed actionable insights used to design the curriculum. The curriculum’s integration showcases the promise of immersive, technology-driven pedagogy.
